As an official photographer for the Stockholm Marathon, race day starts long before the first runner crosses the start line. Positions are planned, lenses cleaned and batteries charged while the city is still quiet.
The route runs past some of Stockholm’s most beautiful streets and waterfronts, and every kilometre tells its own story: concentration at the start, smiles and high-fives along the way, and pure emotion at the finish line.
For me the best pictures are not always the fastest runners. They are the friends running side by side, the family waiting with a sign, and the moment someone realises they have made it.
